Dear Writer,

Thank you so much for writing a fic for me. I’m so excited about this exchange! I haven’t included many concrete prompts. I think the freeform tags are a great guide, so under the individual requests I’m usually talking more generally about what I love about the series.

Freeforms:

I have used quite similar freeforms for all fandoms though they do differ a bit. So, I’ll talk about them here generally and then just list the relevant ones under every request.

• Canon-style plot - I just love the series and books I’ve requested, so I’m not that interested in coffee shop or high school AUs. I love all the case fics (be it detective or medical) just sprinkled with a bit of the characters’ relationships.
• Hurt/comfort - I love hurt/comfort. There can never be enough h/c in a fanfic. I prefer physical h/c, and injuries wayyy over illnesses. I love hurt/comfort and everything it encompasses ie. adapting to new life, permanent injuries, physical therapy…
• Slice of life - I’d love to get a sneak peek into the everyday life of my favourite characters.
• Mystery/Procedural - Case fics! Case fics! I’d love to follow the characters while they are investigating a crime or trying to diagnose a patient.
• Getting together - The majority of my requested pairs are not canon, so I’d love to know how they started dating, who was the matchmaker, how was the first kiss, whether their boss was happy about it…
• Established Relationship - I’d like to get a sneak peek into the private life of my faves.
• Fluff - All my faves are so busy with saving the patients and saving the world, have to always be alert and competent. And I’d love to see a bit of fluff in their lives. Who’ll bring them the fluff? And what is it? Visiting a cat-cafe or breakfast in bed?
• Action/Adventure - I have this freeform for SEAL Team. So that’s missions! Deployments! And for Judge Dee Mysteries and The Professionals because their investigations can be really dramatic.
• Fix-it fic - Only for Grey’s Anatomy and SEAL Team and House M.D. Yup, not that happy with Calzona’s break-up and Clay’s death. These were such bad bad decisions by the TV writers. And there’s so much room to build a totally new reality in the fic. For House, I think it got a bit off the rails after season 5… the hospitalization, the whole Cuddy/House, break-up and the car “accident” - maybe we could do without them.
• Character Development - here I’m thinking specifically about Cristina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy and House because they are just fascinating. The way they think…

What I love about the books:

I love crime novels. There's no other genre I read as often and as excitedly as crime novels. I love the investigation process, I love racing with the detectives to catch the murderer. Though these books are even more than this. I usually don't like the romantic tension "will they date, won't they date" but here I've completely fallen for it! I really really neeeed them to be happy and together.

I have to admit that so far I've read only the first two books - The Cuckoo's Calling and The Silkworm. But I've read countless fanfics so I know about the evolution of the relationships and work and about the private lives so feel free to set the fic at whichever time from the whole series; of course it can also be a future fic or set at unspecified time. Though I would prefer if the fic didn't contain any hints to the cases from the books I haven't read (because I want this to be a surprise while reading).

Prompts:

• just fluff (either Robin & Cormoran or Robin/Cormoran)
• road trip (they seem to be quite popular in the series ;) though Robin and Cormoran usually travel for work)
• hurt/comfort - I prefer hurt!Cormoran. His leg is always bothering him quite a lot and I would love to read more about it. Is Robin helping him?
• What if Cormoran didn’t leave the Army after the injury? How would he meet Robin?

What I love about the series:

CSI: Los Angeles had the weirdest cases, CSI: Miami was sunny but maybe too much Hollywood-like-perfect, CSI: NY was the normal one. And I loved that. All the sneak peeks into the hectic life in such a big modern city, kinda typical - but not stereotypical - characters: former soldier, a local kid, skilled detective… Sometimes you don’t need dark and twisted plots all the time. I also think there was a nice balance between the personal lives and “normal” cases. And then there’s Danny and his smile and his glasses.

Prompts:

• I’d love to see Danny and Lindsay as smart and capable detectives they are!
• I love the caring side of Lindsay and would love to see her comfort Danny
• Recovery after a canon injury but make it longer ;) Danny was injured at the end of season 5 and in season 6 episode 7 he’s ok? I’d love to see more from the PT or the recovery to be longer. Also, Danny said there was a ten-per cent chance he’d walk again. What if he didn’t recover?
• Exploring other canon injuries - eg. from s03e24 when the drug dealers kidnap and beat Danny (and Adam) or shiny new non-canon injuries.

What I love about the series:

Grey’s Anatomy has been running for so long and everything has already happened there. I just love medical TV shows, all the improbable cases, crazy diagnosis, competent doctors, watching the surgeries, the tense atmosphere in the OR when something goes wrong, injuries, healing, doctors explaining the procedures…

My OTP was Cristina/Burke and then Calzona... And over time I’ve begun exploring ships that weren’t canon, I love the idea of Meredith/Cristina. And I love all the various friendships.

Prompts:

• one of the doctors is preparing to do a difficult surgery, the other one is supporting them, calming down, offering ideas…
• fluffy Calzona; I loved them, my girls deserve to be happy together (what if they both returned to Seattle from NY as a couple again)
• medical case-fic
• Cristina is a fascinating character, I’d love to read more about her career in Switzerland, about her being a famous surgeon and teacher; how is it compatible with her friendship or relationship with Mereidth
• Another reason Cristina truly is a fascinating character is her openly stating she doesn’t want to have kids; it’s a theme people don’t talk about nowadays and I feel it was even more taboo ten years ago. I just love her for saying it loud and for standing up for her decision.
• Meredith and Cristina had such an amazing friendship, I’d love to see it in a fic
• Meredith/Cristina - how did it happen (totally up to you, maybe Meredith/Derek never even dated ooor Meredith/Cristina started dating after all of the canon MerDer)
• H/C - one of the doctors is a patient. Who is it? What happened? Who’s treating them?
• Exploring canon injuries. I’d be interested in Arizona and her dealing with the amputation. It seemed like a season later the writers forgot she had lost her leg.
• I love OR scenes and competent confident surgeons there.

What I love about the series:

I love everything about House. An “unlikeable” main character, cynicism and irony, crime case-like approach to medicine…

I have to admit that the first three seasons were the best in my opinion. I'm much more familiar with the first five seasons… I know all the important events that happened afterwards (but we can totally make a deal that season 7 and 8 didn’t ever happen, especially not the whole House/Cuddy breakup, car “accident”, prison etc.)

• House & Wilson strong friendship even in their worst moments
• House as a patient
• Of course, we have House, his leg and his pain. When it comes to canon portrayal of his pain I prefer the first three seasons. But you don’t have to concentrate only on this. House did many crazy things that resulted in other injuries, other crazy things just happened to him… or you can come up with new injuries.
• I just simply love Wilson taking care of House.
• Are House/Wilson trying to get together? Are they in an established relationship and hiding it? Is there a bit of fluff in their everyday life?
• Hilson developing relationship
• House as Chase's mentor
• House/Stacy - either sneak peek into the past and their relationship back then or what if they got together again in season 2?

What I love about the books:

I really like these classical, old-school crime novels (Poirot, Miss Marple, Maigret…). The plot is calmer, it doesn’t mean that nothing happens though; and moreover, Judge Dee books are quite full of action, but the narration is calmer, the plot is cleverly thought-through. In addition, in these books there are a lot of pieces of information about Chinese culture, history, way of life, art and objects of everyday life. I especially like all the information about tea drinking.

Prompts:

• I’ve read all the books (and I mean books by Robert van Gulik not “books” written by Frederick Lenormand) so any prequel/sequel/missing scene/continuation would be great.
• Case fic! These books are so clearly focused on crime solving that I can’t come up with any other prompt...
• A story told from the First Lady’s POV
• I don’t have any deep knowledge about Chinese culture (so don’t worry too much about absolute accuracy) but I’m always happy to learn new things, so anything with Judge Dee and Chinese culture, habits, art, history… would be great!
• A story where Judge Dee goes on vacation (with his family?) or just travels somewhere and surprisingly no crime happens. What does he do when he’s not investigating?
• Ma Joong, Tao Gan and Chiao Tai save the day thanks to the unique knowledge and capabilities of each of them. I especially like the clever conman Tao Gan.
• Ma Joong & Chiao Tai’s strong friendship. Will it help them while solving a case? Will we learn something interesting about them?

I have to admit that for this fandom I cannot imagine any romantic plot or any ships (I mean mainly between the requested characters; romance for OCs (or OC/requested character) is welcome)

6. Murder Most Unladylike Series - Robin Stevens

What I love about the books:

I may not be the target audience but I love it anyway! It’s like reading Agatha Christie’s and Enid Blyton’s books combined! Agatha’s clever mysteries, murder investigations but with Enid Blyton’s children detectives and their problems with annoying grown-ups who don’t want to listen to them :) I love the cozy feelings, the friendship, the atmosphere of the 1930s, the description of a boarding school…

Prompts:

• Murder mystery. That’s what the young ladies do the best.
• Future fic: what are they doing in their grown-up life?
• Friendship fic - with or without including the Young Pinkertons.
• Just in case you’ve read some of Agatha Christie’s books (Marple, Poirot, Tommy & Tuppence) or Enid Blyton’s books about the Five Find-outers with Fatty: I’d love to see any crossover with either of the books.
• I know that compared with the other fandoms I may not have that many prompts here but that’s because I love the canon as it is and I just want mooooore.
• Daisy and Hazel writing letters to each other; sneak peek into their “mission reports”

What I love about the series:

I love spies, I do love spies so much, I love undercover work, creating the backstories and agents slipping into “fake” characters. And Mr. Callen is the master of the game. I also love men with blue eyes and characters with tough childhoods behind them and mysterious past. Basically, NCIS: LA is Mr. Callen for me.

Some of my favourite episodes are: Past Lives, Pusback, LD50, Callen G., Familia, Reznikov N., Matryoshka, The Chosen One, Purity

Prompts:

• Case fic; I love all case fics, it’s a great bonus if they include Comescus or someone from the characters’ past. The more undercover work and spies the better ;)
• Exploring Callen’s past as the agent in Russia and Eastern Europe. I also love Arkady and would love to see more about his past cooperation with Callen.
• Mr. Callen undercover.
• Hurt!Callen. What happened to him this time? Is he in a hospital? Who’s putting up with him? I feel like even most of the canon injuries have been brushed upon, especially the ones after Mexico… And we were robbed of Callen’s recovery after the nearly fatal shooting in the NCIS LA spin-off Legend. Or you can come up with moooore original injuries. Mission fic, undercover, case fic would be an awesome background for this.
• Exploring Callen’s ability to speak multiple foreign languages and maybe other talents. Is it useful for his job or is it for something else in this case? Is he learning a new language?
• I just love the cagy, lone wolf Mr. Callen from the first few seasons and would like to read more about him. He trusted so few people but somehow Sam and Arkady were among them.
• I liked the earlier seasons’ dynamics between Hetty and Callen. They respect and understand each other, Callen is trying to find out about his past, Hetty is trying to protect him…
• Sam/Callen (up to you if you omit Michelle and canon or maybe they got together after her death?) How did they start dating? What’s their relationship like? How do they balance work and private life? Is there a bit of fluff in their lives? What if Callen is injured? What is Sam doing?
• 5 + 1 format. Maybe mission fics, 5 times Callen was a lone wolf and solved the case and the one time he needed Sam. Or the other way around. Or something totally different.
• Basically, anything Mr. Callen related would be awesome.

8. Olympics RPF

What I love about this:

Pole vault is such an exciting and unique discipline. And all the athletes seem to get on very well and the Mondo & Sam and especially Mondo & Renaud friendship – in real life – is so heart-warming to see.

There are less than ten stories in this fandom so feel free to add what you want! Bonus points for mentioning Armand’s glasses! (Nope, the laser surgery totally didn’t happen ;) )

Prompts:

• Friendship, friends to lovers, slowburn. Maybe they are training and just hanging around in Renaud’s garden in Clermont-Ferrand.
• Olympics 2020 (2021): there was all: the pressure and joy for Mondo, (the absolute joy for Manolo, the disappointment for Sam) and the drama and pain for Renaud. I’d love to read any fic based on these canon events. It was so sad to see Renaud in pain (otoh the h/c potential!!). And Mondo hugging Renaud after his last failed attempt and then Renaud being the first person to congratulate Mondo after it was clear he won T_T
• Olympics 2024 – is Renaud still competing? (I certainly hope he makes it to the team!) Will Mondo win?
• A humorous story including a fun way how to use the poles. Maybe they have to escape from somewhere.
• I just love Renaud’s mentorship and their mutual respect and admiration. (Renaud saying about Mondo’s 6.21 WR at the Worlds: “Mondo asked me to stay there for him. I can’t say no to him.” AWWWWWWW)
• Hurt/comfort. Injury recovery. Lots of comfort. There’s a perfect opportunity: Mondo’s WR of 6.23 and Renaud’s leg surgery in the span of a week. I’d love any friendship or shippy take on it. Are they texting each other, is Renaud watching the World Championship in hospital? Does Mondo rush to France immediately afterwards?
• Fluff. They deserve it ;) Established relationship.

What I love about the series:

I love the brotherhood, the absolute trust, the unbreakable bond between the SEALs. The way they are so dedicated to the job and can forget all the troubles and just get the things done. I love watching these confident men who can just do anything anywhere anytime they want. I like the way they face their problems.

I love Sonny & Clay’s friendship. They are so different and at the first sight, it’s an improbable friendship - and yet they are battle boos.

I love it when they plan the missions. Everyone weighs in their opinion, they quickly form plans, always have a plan B.

Season 6 episode 8 never happened. Please use canon up to S06E07. (In case you choose the tag Fix-it then references to 06x08 are ok).

Prompts:

• The feeling of brotherhood.
• Clay & Sonny’s friendship. They are so different and at the first sight, it’s an improbable friendship - and yet they are best friends.
• The classics: case fic, mission fic, undercover work. I love it when they plan the missions. Everyone weighs in their opinion, they quickly form plans, always have a plan B.
• Or it could be more fluffy and light-hearted here - cooking together, moving in together…
• SEAL Team is more focused on action and executing the orders but how would they fare with investigating a murder mystery?
• And of course so many many hurt/comfort opportunities. What happened? Are they stranded somewhere? Will they get the help needed? (Unsurprisingly, I’d prefer hurt!Clay)
• Injuries from a mission are the most expected but I’d be interested also in other ways how the poor boys could get hurt. In training? Or a “normal” car crash?
• If you’d like to go the Clay/Sonny route, I’m in! Or Clay/Jason route. These fics are so rare T_T
• I loved everything about Manila and Clay’s injury. What if Bravo returned from the Philippines after the bombing and was there for Clay instead of Swanny?
• What if “the very real possibility that your operating days will be over” the doctors kept talking about in 2x18 did happen and Clay couldn’t return to the field?
• Or maybe the Manila injuries are acting up now, on top of everything else.

For Season 6:

• Any of the nominated relationships/friendships under these hard circumstances.
• There was a 3-month-jump in the events in episode 2 so what happened during this time, not only with Clay but the whole team?
• Clay instructing the Green Team and…. Clay is such an intelligent and capable person that I can’t imagine he’ll be happy yelling at Green Team members and ramping up their fitness in the long run. Can you please find something more for him to do? He speaks nine languages wink wink
• Could he be accompanying Bravo on some mission because of his unique language skills? What will this trip cause? Increase his (and Jason’s) desire for him to return to Bravo or will he make his peace with never coming back? What is Stella’s opinion?
• Clay returning to Bravo.
• I have to admit that I have a pretty developed fix-it AU in my mind (and in a series of fics) where Clay returns to Bravo even with a prosthetic leg. It’s the only way I’m able to deal with season 6… and I totally do get it that you might not share this view. So in this case could you please concentrate more on the earlier stages of the rehab and coming to terms with the amputation (like episode 6x2, 6x3, 6x4) instead of long-term career and life plans? (I would prefer fics that wouldn't directly contradict my head-canon in this case)
• Though if you do share this view that Clay returns, I need to know everything about how it goes! In this case I'm here for alllll the Fix-it freeform! I’d LOVE to see Clay become Bravo 1 one day.

10. The Professionals (TV 1977)

What I love about the series:

I like how this series focuses only on three main characters and yet so much mystery about them still remains. I like the clever plot, the banter between Doyle and Bodie and the action scenes; the often complicated investigation, spy games, sneak peeks into politics and diplomacy, and especially the cold-war atmosphere.

It is so interesting to watch how Cowley, Bodie and Doyle all have different backgrounds (albeit we don’t have that much info) and it serves as believable reasoning for the different motivation, decisions and behaviour of the characters. And all the action scenes also offer so many h/c possibilities ;)

Prompts:

• I just like this matter-of-fact, raw tone of the series and would love to see it in the fic too
• Classic case-fic... or a case-fic with some sprinkles of Bodie/Doyle or Bodie/Cowley
• Who initiated the relationship? Are they hiding it? They probably have to… but does Doyle know (for Bodie/Cowley) or does Cowley know (for Bodie/Doyle)?
• Is it the first m/m relationship for either of them? If not, is there any story they can tell about their past relationships? Was their partner also an agent, a soldier?
• I’d love to get to know more about Bodie’s mysterious past. Will we meet Krivas again??
• For Bodie/Cowley: Age gap! Age gap! I usually don’t see it as a problem at all but maybe some of the characters have some thoughts about it.
• Can we catch some smallest details revealing they are in a relationship even when they are 100 % focused on a case?
• H/C, it seems that in the course of later seasons the writers forgot but there indeed is a bullet in Cowley’s leg! And the many times Bodie (or Doyle) was kicked, hit, injured and even shot? So many h/c opportunities. Who is hurt? How did it happen? Is it serious?
• I love the episodes with politics, cold war, diplomats and agents playing mind games (and spy games)
• I think Bodie and Cowley are much more similar than Doyle and Cowley, so I’d love to see more about Bodie & Cowley dynamics.
• Reuniting after years apart, post-canon etc. - I’d love to know what happened. Did Bodie and Doyle work for CI5 until retirement? Did one of them change his life radically? Why? What happened? How did they meet again…
